A screw feeder is a type of conveyor used to handle bulk solid materials in which a screw or screw turns inside a hopper, moving the material forward and from the feeder to the next process, the different types are shown below for you screw feeder

4 common types of screw feeders

Screw Feeder Screw feeders can be configured for continuous or batch operations where granular, powder, viscous or binder type materials need to be fed, can be arranged horizontally, inclined or vertically, and are also available in single and twin screw models.

1. Horizontal screw feeder

Suitable for horizontal angle or slightly inclined conveying style, ideal for transporting bulk materials from one process point to another, can transport slow or fast flowing dry bulk materials, the machine is convenient for multi-point loading and unloading, and the conveying length can be up to 60 meters.

2. Inclined screw feeder

Usually it is run slightly above the horizontal, or within 45°. As the inclination angle increases, the conveying efficiency will decrease and the power requirement will increase due to gravity and bulk material falling back.

3. Vertical screw feeder

It can transport dry to semi-fluid materials at 45°-90°, with a small footprint, sealed transport, and a vertical lifting height of up to 8 meters.

4. Twin screw feeder

Twin shaft design, in addition to conveying materials, it can crush and stir materials, and the conveying capacity is 1.5-2 times higher than that of single-shaft screw feeders.
