Overview
Rotary sifter for sieving powder coating is a special variety of coating, which is prepared by mixing special resin, pigment, curing agent and other additives in a certain proportion, and then through hot extrusion, crushing and sieving.
Challenge
This industry leading company developed a new product line specifically for one new customer. During the development process, they discovered that over-sized particles were getting mixed in with the final product instead of being completely screened out by the sieve as intended. over -sized particles were adversely affecting the finish and causing blemishes in the powder coating.
This problem had never been identified before, even on material being run on screens as fine as 200 mesh. They determined that the issue was neither caused because of the chemistry of the new product or the process leading up to the Prater Sifter.
Solution
Since powder coatings are fine powders, light in weight, prone to static electricity, and easy to agglomerate, our sieving drum sieves powder coatings through a rotary sifter, which is a device that pushes product particles to Through the screen for screening, the oversized particles are sprayed to the discharge port through the downstream end of the sieve cylinder, and the lighter particles are brought to the discharge port together. The strong force will break up the agglomerated powder coating. Perfectly solved this screening problem.
Results
When the Rotary sifter sieves light and low bulk density products, it will easily pass through the screen without causing clogging, thereby affecting and improving the screening efficiency.
